Richard Parsons earned his J.D., summa cum laude,
from Capital University Law School in 2007, graduating in
the top 5% of his class. At Capital, Ricky was a member of
the Capital University Law School Law Review, which is
currently in the process of publishing his article on Ohio's
multiple counts statute. Also while pursuing his law degree,
Ricky was voted a law review staff member of the year and
received CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Federal
Criminal Law, Payment Systems, Immigration Law,
Administrative Law, and Trial Advocacy. Prior to law
school, Ricky earned his B.A., magna cum laude, in
psychology from Carleton College, a small liberal arts
school in Northfield, Minnesota. While at Carleton, Ricky
received a Certificate of Advanced Study of Spanish Language
and Literature, and his senior thesis and an independent
study, both of which received honors, were published in
peer-reviewed, international journals. Before entering law
school, Ricky engaged in post-graduate studies at the
University of Chicago in the area of cultural psychology.
During the period between his undergraduate and law school
educations, Ricky lived in Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico for
two years, where he worked as an English teacher for a
private language institute and as a legal translator in the
General Assistance Office for Michoacan Emigrants (Coordinación
General para la Atención al Migrante Michoacano). Ricky is
a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Columbus Bar
Association, Phi Alpha Delta, and the National Association
of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He was also nominated to the
prestigious Sigma Xi Research Association, an organization
dedicated to scientific research, by his undergraduate
institution. Ricky practices in the areas of criminal and
civil litigation, with emphasis in federal criminal and
administrative law. |
